The purpose of this blog is to share information regarding the dance consulting services and work that Ms. Afrika Abney offers and provides as a professional dance consultant.
Trained in West African dance and ballet by various dance companies and individuals based in Washington, D.C.. Some of them include Melvin Deal, African Heritage Dancers and Dancers; Kadiatou Conte, Balafon Women's Ensemble; NationHouse West African Dance Staff, Afia Akoto, Makini N., Akua Kouyate; and Sherrill Berryman Johnson
Invited by Principal Maria Tukeva to participate in the school assembly that took place at Lincoln Middle School in January 1992.

Over 17 years of extensive experience in providing workshops, performances, and instruction in the field of dance, as well as a dance consulting services for numerous small businesses, dance studios, and nonprofits, including African Heritage Dancers and Drummers, Memory of African Culture, Soul in Motion Players, Inc, Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers, Akoma Drummers, M.O.M.1.E.S. TLC, Bele Bele Rhythm Collective, Young Women's Drumming Empowerment, Joy of Motion Dance Center, Roda Movements,Kingdom Kids Care, and Balafon Women's Ensemble. Dance performance experiences include a wide range of events and venues, showcasing her talent and dedication to the art of dance.
